The Serum amyloid A protein
The physiologocal role of serum amyloid A (SAA) proteins is currently unknown,
but they are thought to have a role in altered lipid flow during inflammation.
In disease reactive, secondary amyloidoses is characterized by the extracellular
accumlation in various tissues of the SAA protein. Our SWISSPROT sequences
are here,
the result of the multiple sequence alignment is here.
